Evening meetings are usually held on the second Tuesday of each month from October through to April in the Conference Hall at the Houghall Campus of East Durham College at 7:30pm.

bullet  Saturday 15th January 12:00 / 12:30pm Lunch at Whitworth Hall Hotel.

bullet  Tuesday 8th February, 7:30pm, 'Snowdrops' by Michael Myers.

bullet  Tuesday 8th March, 7:30pm, 'Bog Gardens' by Linda Smith, proprietor of Waterside Nursery in Sharnford, Leicestershire. Linda exhibits regularly at the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park and BBC Gardeners' World Live, and won a Silver Gilt medal in 2010 with her first Chelsea Flower Show exhibit as well as Gold Medals at BBC Gardener's World and RHS Tatton Park and a Premium Medal at Harrogate.

bullet  Tuesday 12th April, 7:00pm, Annual General Meeting, with talk 'World of Ferns' by Neil Timm of The Fern Nursery at Binbrook in Lincolnshire. Neil began his gardening life at The Isle Of Ely College, Wisbech, and has worked in a number of gardens in Lincolnshire and beyond, including over twenty years as a landscape gardener and garden designer.

Autumn/Winter Talks 2011

bullet  Tuesday 11th October, 7:30pm Joint meeting with Friends of the Botanic Garden. 'Dry gardening for maximum effect and minimum maintenance' by Christopher Bailes, formerly curator of RHS Garden Rosemoor, who has recently been appointed as curator of the Chelsea Physic Garden.

bullet  Tuesday 8th November, 7:30pm 'Corydalis in the wild and in your garden' by Prof. Brian Whitton, holder of a National Collection of Corydalis.

bullet  Tuesday 13th December, 7:30pm 'Gardens of Madeira' by Vera Baty. Please note that this is a change from the originally published talk.
